Beyond Assumption – Fundraising Terms and Conditions

Introduction
Thank you for choosing to fundraise for Beyond Assumption (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Charity”). Your support enables us to continue our work and reach more people in need.
These Terms and Conditions explain your responsibilities when fundraising in aid of Beyond Assumption. By undertaking any fundraising activity for the Charity, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Your Role as a Fundraiser
1.1 You acknowledge that you are fundraising “in aid of” Beyond Assumption and are acting as an independent supporter. You are not an employee, agent, or representative of the Charity.
1.2 You agree to act responsibly and with integrity, and not to do anything that could damage the reputation of Beyond Assumption.
1.3 Beyond Assumption reserves the right to withdraw permission for any fundraising activity at any time where it considers appropriate.
1.4 You will inform the Charity as soon as reasonably possible if your fundraising activity is cancelled or significantly changed.
2. Responsibility and Liability
2.1 You undertake all fundraising activities at your own risk and on your own initiative.
2.2 Beyond Assumption shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage suffered by you, participants, volunteers, or any third party, or for any damage to property arising from your fundraising activity.
3. Legal Compliance and Permissions
3.1 You are responsible for ensuring that your fundraising activity complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
3.2 This includes (but is not limited to):
● Obtaining any required licences, permits, or permissions
● Ensuring appropriate insurance is in place (e.g. public liability insurance)
● Complying with health and safety requirements
● Ensuring raffles, lotteries, or competitions comply with relevant legislation
● Not undertaking house-to-house or public collections without appropriate licences
● Obtaining permission before collecting on private property
3.3 You must not sell alcohol without the appropriate licence and must ensure any third parties involved are properly authorised and insured.
4. Use of Name, Logo and Materials
4.1 You may refer to Beyond Assumption when promoting your fundraising activity, but you must clearly state that the activity is “in aid of” the Charity and not an official Charity event unless expressly authorised.
4.2 You must obtain prior written approval before using the Charity’s logo or branded materials.
4.3 Any materials must be accurate, appropriate, and not misleading.
4.4 Any unused materials provided by the Charity should be returned or disposed of responsibly.
5. Fundraising Conduct
5.1 You agree to use your best endeavours to maximise fundraising in support of Beyond Assumption.
5.2 You must ensure that all fundraising is carried out in a safe, lawful, and ethical manner.
5.3 You must not resell or auction any Charity-branded merchandise without prior written consent.
6. Handling Donations
6.1 You have a legal responsibility to ensure that all funds raised are paid to Beyond Assumption in full.
6.2 Funds should be transferred to the Charity as soon as reasonably possible and, where practicable, within 8 weeks of the fundraising activity.
6.3 Any expenses must be agreed with the Charity in advance and must not be deducted from donations without permission.
6.4 You must keep accurate records of all funds raised and ensure money is handled securely at all times.
7. Data Protection
7.1 If you collect or process personal data as part of your fundraising, you must comply with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR.
7.2 Personal data must only be used for the purpose for which it was collected and must not be shared without appropriate consent.
8. Photography and Publicity
8.1 By sharing images, videos, or content from your fundraising activity with Beyond Assumption, you grant the Charity permission to use these materials for promotional purposes unless you expressly state otherwise.
9. Insurance
9.1 Beyond Assumption does not provide insurance cover for fundraising activities. 9.2 You are responsible for arranging any appropriate insurance cover required for your activity.
10. Safeguarding
10.1 You are responsible for ensuring that your fundraising activity is conducted in a safe and inclusive manner.
10.2 Where children or vulnerable individuals are involved, you must ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
11. Termination
11.1 Beyond Assumption reserves the right to terminate or withdraw support for any fundraising activity that:
● Breaches these Terms and Conditions
● Is unlawful or unsafe
● May harm the Charity’s reputation
12. Changes to These Terms
12.1 Beyond Assumption may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Updated versions will be made available upon request or via official Charity channels.
13. Governing Law
13.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
13.2 Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
